March 26, 1983

Mark M,

I have read with appreciation your letter to my husband for permission to publish something on his life. Similar requests have been received from others who wish to write his biography, all of which are considered to be premature at this time.

When his present research is completed, more factual (technical) data will be available and I have been asked to reserve the rights to collaborate in writing my husband's biography. This arrangement has already been approved and is in binding.

I regret, therefore, to answer your request in the negative. Your interest in his life and work, however, is deeply appreciated by both my husband and myself.

Sincerely,

Josephine B. Brown
(Mrs. T. Townsend Brown)
