Dearest,

Was glad to get your letter of the 11th and Linda's drawing. Certainly shows she has a gift.

Hope the cold wave has not frozen the oranges. Know you are okay with the new load of wood and the oil heater. Will be anxious to learn where Joe is. Strange, if he is in the US why doesn't he let us know. After he gets over here there should be no reason for secrecy in his movements.

Am returning the Blue Cross application. Might be a good idea to complete it and send it in. Also returning other things for the file.

As you know, we have had the vacuum system running for some time now. the gyro runs as it did in Paris. And we have made several improvements. Yesterday, we put it in a vertical position so it would lift. Agnew said that if it worked we would celebrate. So, last night we celebrated (with champagne) here in the laboratory. Agnew pulled the cork and J. Frank took movies of the proceedings. Gloria was here too, but Catherine had to baby-sit and could not come. Really had a lot of fun. Agnew said - "all we needed were some dancing girls!"

Agnew seems to have great plans for the future and still talks (quite seriously) about our first trip in a saucer. Wants work on the flame jet started immediately - plus all of the other things we have to do. And time keeps rolling on. With the plant closing down this coming Saturday until after Christmas, I keep wondering what he intends for me to do. Last night, he mentioned several times about my going home for the holidays - but, of course, I cannot hope to go unless the company pays the way down and back.

Then too, I wonder about the contract. If I get $500 in advance this coming week, as I'll probably have to do, that ends it. I will then be paid up until Jan. 15th.

Anyway, it will probably be determined this week. I really don't see how they can do without me, do you?

Two additional checks just written will probably overdraw the account. If it gets tight, write on the Leesburg bank and let me know if we can cover. The checks are:

    Dec. 26 Cash ...................... 5.00
    Dec. 27 Cash ..................... 10.00

Hope your trip to Deland was fun. Wish I could have been with you.

Love to you both,

TTB
