Dearest:

Have not heard from you since your telephone call that you had arrived home. Hope everything has been all right. Was sorry to learn about Kitty. It probably came about because Linda was staying with the Y's - across the road. The next place we get must not be near a highway.

Have not been looking seriously for a place here just yet. First, because the work at the laboratory has not really been providing much of encouragement - that is, actually until last night. But more about this later.

I still think it will be best to stay there until after Christmas. And by that time, I will have more definite information about the success of this project. Based on what appears, as of last night, success could be fast in coming and money troubles could evaporate. Then we would not be limited necessarily to Winston-Salem.

Do hope everything is healing properly. How do you feel now? And when are you to see the doctor again?

Am glad you were able to pay the hospital only $60. For we will probably need every penny we can scrape for the next month, unless, of course, we strike oil.

The checks I have written since leaving Umatilla are
    Nov. 19 Railway Express Agency ....... $ 2.87
    Nov. 20 YMCA ...................................... 19.00
Nov. 26 Vogler's Jewelry Store (repairs to clock) ...... 3.00
    Nov. 26 Cash ......................................... 10.00
    Nov. 27 YMCA ...................................... 19.00

The other check for $500 will probably come in on Monday and I will send it directly to the bank. Be sure to send out the checks which were promised on the first. See the list and the correspondence. We should also write to the H's about the repairs to the windows - explaining that they were going to pieces, would not close - wood was rotten, etc.

I know you will tell me as soon as you hear from Joe. I really don't expect him until just before Christmas. They will probably arrange for him to be home then.

Now, about the findings in the lab. last night, I completed the first test with heavy electrodes (like the Zanesville tests) and the results were so surprising that I believe we are now back on track.

Love to my darlings,

Affectionately,

TTB
